my weeek at work was rough.
but im sure the people at lehman's n AIG had it worst.

yesterday they introduced the rule of no short selling or covered shorts on the NYSE and the ASX or be prepared to pay a fine and all that stuff
i guess its suppose to make things better cos i've seen company shares(Centro properties) drop from $0.60 to $0.06 in a matter of weeeks.
Babcock n brown Ltd stocks can fluctuate between $1.50 to $0.790 rapidly many times in within a day and i was badly badly burnt when i decided to trade it on a whim.
Gold stocks that were usually trading in the $2.14s went up to $2.58 due to overnight news of gold prices rising to an all time high.

some people say the news is impt but in my job, trading the news can also mean suicide.
cos some of the market players like to go against people who trade overnight news and the usual expectation.
studying the volume traded, recognising real sellers, recognising fakers and reacting to all of them is way n much more impt.the market is pretty volatile now, im sure there are alot of people who have already struck it rich across the world, benefitting from the repeated downfall of the financial giants but i guess rocky grounds wld also make a great learnin platform for newbies.

Friday was beer with darren n dinner with gina
we went to Central for sun with moon and i was so amused with the glass lifts.
they have reallly weird beeping buttons for "door closing" n " door opening" and i was the designated "door open/close" person in the lift cos i was next to the panel right, so i kept buzzing them just for fun to irritate the fellow lift patrons.

we were really stuffed from edamame, soba, sashimi n ramen n there was some corny river festival thingy going on at the singapore river so we were entertained by music and eardrum-busting mini pyrotechnics display.

this morning i was on flickr n i was teleported to North Korea with this frenchie's photo set
its a place where i'll prob never visit and have so little understanding of
i think a tear dropped somewhere along the way while browsing his sets as he unravelled the everyday life of the people in NK.

Hotel guests can type emails or postcards but they must be read by someone before they can be mailed.
Tourists must be accompanied by 2 guides at all times, and tours are very structured.

Tourists aren't allowed to go out at night and every hour from 6am to midnight, loudspeakers blast out a patriotic song.

there r plenty of museums of war-time "victories", pictures which depicted the heroic acts of the army n propaganda signs plastered everywhere.

the best seller in the book store was titled " the hero who escaped south korea"

this was a cameraman who's filmin a group of girls who had come to mansu hill to pay respects to the leaders and subsequently the cameraman also took the photographer n it was broadcasted on tv that even foreigners frm all over the world have come to pay their respect to the Leader

people wear badges of their leaders
lenin in the background
no coca cola, they hate the US

a mass display at the national stadium

after looking at the photo set, i realised the portraits of the leaders were hung everywhere and the photographer was told if he was taking pictures, he had to make sure the faces of the leaders were fully captured, or else it wld be very disrespectful.

the former president Kim II sun ( father of now ruler:Kim JOng II) was momified and there is a huge tomb with very tight security and he is also called ' the eternal sun' , or the "eternal president"

disturbing huh

im just so glad to be here in Sg.
