gd bye singapore
it was an ardous 4.5 hour flight to taipei(cos we travelled via budget) but dan was so nice to entertain me with 4 episodes of gossip girl on his iphone
hello taipei airport
most 3star hotels were like realy old buildings but the hotel staff approachable and helpfulin fact, taiwanese people are generally reallllly helpful n polite
after checking into our rooms, we headed to ximending cos it was nearby n we were STARVING by then.
mark put the thought of eating" shabu shabu" into our heads throughout the flight so we hunted for a nice shabu shabu restie

239 yuan per person : ) for a plate of sliced beef+veggies+side dishes
more fat than meat haha
DIY candy floss

my rilly tall n looong candyfloss haha
fannie is such a cartoon character hehe
they closed down krispykremes in HK so had to try the donuts heredont trust the deceitful lil lion cub in the poster!
it tasted pretty bad so dont bother eating misterdonut in taipei k
all 6 of us : )

meet ah mao the doggythey named the cafe after it n leashed the poor dog to its storefront tsktsk hehe but its such a crowd magnet
taking the MRT

their ticket is a blue plastic coin which costs between 20-45yuan
went to shilin night market for more shopping

crude flipflops!ended up at the wrong side n totally missed the foodstalls haha
there were lotsa streetwear stalls, mad shopping for the girls, but the items weren't thaat cheap
it drizzled and we called it a night , poor bucky was freeezin in his berms

day2!!
to the hot springs in xinbeitou!!!

9 different hot springs to dip into : )
we had to change into white kimonos and our bikinis before dipping
the air was lovely, i think the resort was on the peak of the hill so it was very quiet toothe layout was very japnese influenced

we were like tangyuans in hot soup

we were like running from pool to pool coz the air was soo cold compared to the 35 deg water : )
after an 1.5hr session, we settled for buffet lunch n took a stroll downhill back to the mrt station

no sweat at all despite the long walk down
spot "daniel" cafe, 2nd to the right of Macslotsa dog lovers in taiwan

n we headed to wu fen pu , the main apparel wholesaler for the whole of taipei
it's friggin big, like 100 over alleys and we only walked one alley hahaahhaa
wholesale prices for stuff weren't cheap either and taiwanese dont like to haggle, they say things like " if u don't have "fate" with the item, it's okay, u can leave the shop"
so no doubt they're nice people but when it comes to bargaining, they're pretty firm abt it

dan was feelin real cold so he bought a tiny muffler n the boys drank hot pearl milk tea

spotted the origami tube dress but a much shorter version priced at 86sgd :X
mark caught the flu so he wasn't feelin very well, the boys managed to find a tiny cafe to sit down while the girls trawled the shops
n may's gonna be upset with me here hahaha but i saw the boys lookin at magazines! :X
tsktsktsk!

we retired early n had taipei's supposedly NO.1 beef noodles= LAO DONG NU RO MIAN
seriously speaking,we still prefer our very own purvis st hock lam beef noodles :Xlao dong was pretty bland
n we couldn't resist yummy muah chees

we walked to ximending again and decided to check out their " nightspots"
so went down to taipei 101 area and saw room 18 and lava
lava's quite similar to butterfactory except that they have 4 hot taiwanese babes dancing in ear muffs and suspenders and tube tops in front of the dj console
n taiwanese boys dont really dance
they just stare at the dancers n put their hands up in the air hehehe
taiwanese girls dress up like the models u see on Vivi Mag
mini skirts+boots and a wooly furry hoodie : ) the typical cutsey n kawaii vibe
okay...
day3!!!

taken with cam's digital "holga" hehe

we were told to try the famous duck/goose noodles at ximending n we found it : )

*without chemical ingredients* right... haha

savoury goose meat
$30sgd for half a goose
after all that, we went to eat more streetside stuff
like gyoza, fries from fries cup,and chong you bing which looks like prata

dan n i went back to wufenbu to get more stuff and the taxi driver dropped us off on the wrong end of wufenbu like the 119th alley and we were lookin for the 39th alley so we had a hard time relocating a shop : (
finally got back to the hotel n got ready for a night out with his friend Kaiwen, this taiwanese dude who studied in the same jc as he did
got more food! japanese muahchee withchocolate

met up with the rest of the group and headed to cityhall for taipei 101

taipei 101 is the tallest building in taipei and it was layered with blue lights at night
inside was filled with overseas lux labels, its like takashimaya all over again but better cos they obviously carried more labels

hermes boxes all stacked up

tiff n co boxes hanging on the xmas tree at the entrance
walked to newyork newyork which was just another shoppin centre with a catchy name

n we walked down to eslite, it's a department store with one of the biggest bookshops
they also had alternative labels like commes de garcon and a cool furniture store

me resting my aching feet
the pavements outside were rather uneven, super unfriendly for heels

kaiwen decided to take us for KTV and he said we were gonna meet his friend ke you lun
and little did we know he was quite a popular male singer in taipei cos we don't know a thing about chinese songs right?
he was in the ktv room hosting us , being real hospitable to us offering us drinks and telling us we have to go to primo cos it's an awesome club
totally blown away by what a nice dude he was.
n omg
when we were at primo
we saw vaness wu, jacky chan's son, one of the actors for gen x cops at the table
and were surrounded by ALOT OF HOT TAIWANESE GIRLS n dudes
i nearly died of eyecandy overload

we so totally regretted not takin any pcs with alan cos we were too shy : (

so when we left the club and vaness wu was heading out too, may asked him whether we could take a pic with him cos hello? how often do u bump into vanness wu?
n of cos his bodyguard had to repeat the question
thank gdness he said " yeah sure"
we have a totally ugly pic with him haha but who cares
at least we tried : )

he said " happy holidays" and left
he's so suave even with the v for vendetta goatie
the cherry on top of our trip
next day we went back to taipei 101 to get some pineapple tarts for family

this little xiao fan dian in ximending cos may n fannie made friends with 2 17 yr old girls n they reccommended us to eat "ru ruo fan" = minced meat rice for only 20 yuan which was $1sgd
the place SMELT LIKE A TOILET
but we endured the stinkyness to try the food n omg it was reallY YUMMY

the boys caught a movie n the girls did more shopping
before we headed to shilin night market for the real shilin chicken cutlets
it was our last night so we were determined to try all kinds of streetside food that was famous in taipei
chou tofu ( smelly tofu)

mery said if we see a queue for food, just join the queue cos that means the food is good and so we did!

chicken cutlet!
n the shaved creamy ice kachang
oooh it was soo good!
we saw lotsa cute puppies in their little cages but we weren't allowed to take pics
i so want a puppy when i get my own place the next time : )
we spent the entire night shopping they had many pushcarts that sold korean necklaces for SGD$15-$30
n they were gorgeous

i bought one which had a pink rose with a gold stem
we ate more after walking the shoppin area ( serious piggin' out here)

duck tongue+cong yu bing +drinks gd bye shihlin market : )
we went back to pack cos we had to leave the hotel by 4pm the next day.
day5!
we woke up pretty late and decided to eat ru ruo fan again
rembr with rainbow hotel on your left and watsons on your right, walk straight down until u see
tian tian li

it was a monday and lotsa shops weren't open yet so we splitted girls n boys again
dan had to buy some duck tongue for his client
n i saw the shop selling "hearts" of those poor duckies

n girls went crazy shoppin for beauty products like BB cream, fanciful japanese stuff for the eyes and pores and whatnots
n it was bubbyee taiwan : (

sayin bubbyee to ah mao the dog

sanitary pads or candy?

a last photo with alan ke you lun hahahaaha

bubyee taipei!

xxxx
