it's international women's day!
pris dragged us down to substation to catch a film organised by the SCOW and i thought the film was really meaningful.

the rights we have today were made possible by feminists from past generations who championed for what they believed in what all women should have.definitely was an ardous n long journey before many things were legalised.
stuff like contraception, abortion, equal wages, offences against women, domestic roles in the household.
the film was in Italian with english subtitles and it featured the women in the 60s/70s who refused to conform to the "virgins-only, efficient housewife, obedient daughter" roles set by a patriarchal society.
the film was bursting with erotic illustrations, smearing the theme of love with sex. how men usually get away scot free when they impregnate their girlfriends and how the burden is on the woman and the emotional guilt she has to carry along with her all her life.
watch the trailer here

i wouldnt say it was a tear jerker or anything like that, i felt a lil bit more liberated knowing that we shld make our own personal choices and not be pressured to rush into things like marriage or having children. women do have a choice to pursue other things that we would like to do u know.
( i think dan would probably be heaving a sigh of relief right at this moment)

g & p : )

helloo! hahaha
afterwhich we headed down to the tiffin's room at raffles hotel only to find out they close at530pm so we had finger food at seah deli's instead.

saturday was spent with dan cos he says i hardly make time for him :X

this is what we do in 5 mins. hehe

the digital printed skirt was from Topshop
it's a lil unflattering cos it's like 4" smocked at the waist n real bad for tummies but i bought it anyhow cos the prints were too preeetty.

we watched WATCHMEN at vivo.
a gay couple sat next to us holding hands the entire time. sweet eh.
but there is only so much i can take of a glowing blue man n his penis or his high-waisted trunks.
n there is the Comedian who looked so much like robert downey junior.
the songs picked for the scenes were very random but hilarious.
there was this part where silk spectre and night owl had sex n it was "hallelujah-ing" in the background hehe.

dinner was with the usual suspects.
went past the office n saw that my office lights were litted up.wondered who was up to his silly pyjamas with his date.

finally got to eat the much raved about japanese ramen along boat quay

all of us couldnt resist adding ajitama to our ramens. how can anyone resist egg cooked like that?

after dinner, we went to ChinaTown

havent been there in a loong time
meet the angmoh guy who sells german sausages n beer

n the fruit juice uncle who blasts BOSSA NOVA from his speakers hehe
so amusing. the chinese man who listens to all that classical jazzy stuff n the ang moh who sells german sausages in chinatown side by side.

settled for "Ah-Ball-Ling" in ginger soup. :)
4 balls for $1.50
or 6balls for $2.50
soo cheaaaap!

the only thing that peeved us off were the funky smelling lifts at the car park. they were really fishyyyyyy!!
my night didnt end there though, we went to sentosa cos a friend was celebrating his birthday.
hehe okay gotta go now. im hoping starworld will have "Heroes episode 14-17"Marathon!
