vultures of ATBU

We've submitted designs for SMooch for acrossthebloodyuniverse.com to a supplier we thought we could trust in January this year and it took them 3 months as opposed to the promised 3 weeks to get our samples ready.
The samples arrived in April and somehow, they couldn't find the shade of colour or the material we requested for , n we had to reject the items.

The reason why blogshops prefer manufacturing items is because they wanna project a certain style that is distinctly "them" and that is exactly how we wanted it to be.
And then there is the mutual agreement that the designs will be exclusive only to a shop n no one else can have it.

Mery and I have learnt a serious lesson and we cannot be more pissed. So I must share about our bad experience right here.

A dress which we bought online for 50GBP as a sample piece for our manufactuer,
with decisions to change the tri-colour bands to a pastel baby blue along with pink n grey did not turn out well cos the supplier said they could not find the exact shade of blue and had to replace it with a odd shade of brown.Mery and I were like "okay, so how about an oceanic shade of green?"
They could not deliver and we left it as it is. But just this weeek,
the sample piece in the odd shade of brown has been sold to the masses.

According to the bitch, when she showed us the sample piece, 30 pieces were already in the process of being made. This totally didnt make sense to us cos how can sample pieces come in quantities of 30s?AND HOW did the other shops get to sell these items which were exclusive to US even though they were rejected?

We were so mad, we went back to the shop to buy up the remaining pieces of the design because this exact same design is still in the midst of making at a new manufacturer and we don't wish our customers to think that we have ripped this design from other blogshops.

When we got to the shop, i saw another sample piece of a different design being left on a shelf. Without hesitation, i asked her, so did u sell this design to other shops as well?
She said " no" and we took her word for it n even paid for the sample piece just to be sure she will not sell it, but guess what?
We found a website that sold BOTH of the dresses

This dress in baby blue was inspired by a richard nicoll tank top which we decided to make it in babyblue n grey instead of the usual fuschia. We rejected this sample because we thought jersey cotton was just cheap and didn't make it look "class" enough plus the back was wrong, it's not supposed to be a racer back.

So tomorrow, Mery and I are seriously going down to confront the bitch for lying to our faces.
We don't blame the blogshops, it's these lousy suppliers which really screw everything up up.

i have no idea who will read this but oh gosh it's just not a nice feeling knowing ur rejected goods are making people moolah.
All our time and effort spent waiting has been wasted.

GAR AM SO MAD RIGHT NOW.

hi mel,

the herringbone dress was not manufactured by us. a supplier saw me wearing it one day and we helped her in buying a piece to manufacture that's all : ) so we rode on her ability to manufacture more pieces to sell the design as well.
