Mery & Perry's Wedding Day!

*from the Maid of Honour's Perspective :) *

Thursday was the rehearsal at Church of St Bernadette's for Mery's walk-in

the couple was really lucky to get a sunday service , much less an afternoon one on Pentecost Sunday :)

It was headed by Stanley and he did a fabulous job in running through the events of the 45min service.

The whole point was to walk really slowly haha

mery was not kidding when she said we had to dance for her wedding

but of course the priest objected :) and it wld be a little too much of a rip-off as it is afterall JK's wedding
so everyone was fine not doing the little"dance-in"

watching this video makes me all teary-eyed ...
and after  sunday+monday's wedding celebration, 
I realised  the importance of  a supportive group of bridesmaids and groomsmen

they really set the mood for the wedding.

Zipped off to Bras Brasah to Simply Digital to get little pictures blown up into A1 size for the "scrapbook theme" for luncheon. Stella and Serene  helped Mery with the decorations for Sunday's lunch and it was no mean feat as this means thinking of Centre-pieces, serviette rings, reception tables etc etc..
Polaroid films were bought as well and the scrapbook+deco was bought from Papermarket at raffles city shopping centre.
Scrapbook biz is so popular, they have so  many outlets at Plaza Sing as well : )

Friday was a manicure+pedicure session at SNAILS at Mandarin Gallery followed by girly tea-time at Arteastiq . Mery wanted to buy cuff-links for Perry and I met Tze Hon to settle our emcee script in both english and mandarin. Found a useful one here

Saturday was spent making sure we have our dresses, getting the car decorated, floral corsages+ bouquets all set, and checking into our hotel rooms.

The bride and groom are not suppose to meet at all on this day.
Grace, Shuping and Weiting were in charge of gate-crashing and I was so icked out when I saw cooked Pig's snout, ears, and tongue... they had to buy more stuff to prep for the "suan tian ku la" bit

ugly undies + wigs +lipstick for them ahha

we had 4 obstacles for the groomsmen haha and we were really excited but guess what ?
on D day itelf, the boys came half n hour late so we couldn't follow through.
Time passed really quickly as well on Saturday,
At 12am, Mery's parents did the hair-combing bit and  mery was memorising her wedding vows

before we knew it, it was 2am and all of us were still not asleep yet

( we were gonna wear cheongsams for the tea ceremony then change to mayflower convertible for church )
By 245am the deco girls came back from decorating the luncheon place and all went to bed hehe

Sunday!!!! 23rd May 2010
I was up by 430am as I had to be in her room by 5am for hair+make-up with eyebags+ puny eyes ahahaha i shared this make-up artiste with her mom and sis
(tip: always try make-up artistes first, n not hire them too last min)
Mery was up by then as well, she prepped for her personal make-up artiste to come and she engaged Jacqueline Law and she's AWESOME!!
Awesome-ness comes with a price tag as well hehehe
The other jiemeis were ready by 630am and gathered at the function room to be all ready and horrible to the boys
I stayed in the room the entire time with mery to see her get all made up and dressed up

spot the BCBG runway dress which she got as her evening gown but her mommy didn't like it so she found another one

haha Poor girl was super stoned while waiting for her mom and dad to come over and put on her necklace+ placed the veil over her head :)
  MMSed the others a pic of our bride in her wedding gown and told them mery's so beautiful i was gonna cry
she was simply stunning :)

Meanwhile...
the boys arrived in waitor outfits! haha
and we made them wear the silly undies we got them.
a couple had trouble putting them on past their thighs LOL

in the wasabi rimmed "shot glas" was wine+tobasco+chili padi + dried bee

the bitter and the sweet stuff was meant for perry, the rest were for the brothers hahaha

we were suppose to wax those hairy legs " perry heart merry" , alphabet/limb and ripping them off in cannonball style haha  and make them kiss  n teach the youngest bro the 5 sensual spots of a woman but SO SAD! we didnt have enough time :('

they started with a pathetic $8 hahaha obviously that got the jie-meis wound up 

the last obstacle was kneeling down and reading the 10 commandments we penned out loud for mery
some of it went like " i will pay for all cosmetic/beauty regimes " and " he'll not forget to say" mery i love u" every morning
 i was guarding the door I WAS SO WORRIED HAHAHA and kept peeping through the little slit

and we were off to Perry's for tea ceremony! :)) hahaha

at perry's place , i helped to keep her angpows+gifts and the boys nibbled at the buffet and we cheong-ed back for mery's side of tea ceremony
i must mention that perry;s cousin, cassandra wore our crinkled weave dress in white n she looked so good!! :)))
while we were away at tea ceremony the other girls were having a very gd breakfast at the hotel hahaha

 

when we came back, bryan arranged us for this picture :)

we got the boys to go back and thank gdness Regent was near and we managed to settle everything within 20 mins :) gd job ray n songliang : ) hahaa

their ring holder was the musical box which perry had handmade from scratch and  proposed to mery with :)

Grace, Shuping, weiling and myself were on the floor, Baoyi was the commentator, Tabitha played the piano, and Weiting sang :)
Stella n Serene took care of mery's train :)

Mery had to go in to take group shots so we cam-whored a little outside and I know many of our customers wld like to see the mayflower convertible dress LOL
We wrapped in 2 different styles for church and had the intention of re-wrapping
when we got to lunch but we didnt manage to in the end:) hahahaa

so it was off to lunch!
 i followed the couple back to the hotel for mery to change into another dress
bryan n jean took off to another wedding :( so sad, we didnt have them to help us with more shots :(((

everyone else went to Hiroki@dempseys, now called Infusion cos Hiroki (the chef) decided to make 23rd to be his last day before he took off to France :(

At the end of the walkway were tables  with picture frames of the couple's pictures

our "scrapbook" corner where guests can take polaroids and stick them unto the book and write well wishes :)

This was outdoor dining, reserved for the younger ones like the Jiemeis and Brothers, Aunties n Uncles got to sit inside and enjoy the air conditioning

Everything on the table was lovingly thought out by Stella, Serene & Mery :)

Lunch was not too bad :)
we had little silvers of fois gras, lamb, smoked salmon, squid///n lots more

 

BUT IT WAS INSANELY HOT!!!!
we were dying from the heat LOL

hehehe still can't believe this was 4 days ago, mery is finally marrried!!
