first day at werk

was awesome.

whatever i wore is not impt.

(btw,i can wear anything i like to work *rubs hands with glee*)

i was so excited i was up by 530am.

work started at 10, ended past 1230pm, the next 2 weeks have been scheduled and we're also given books to read outside of training hours.

today, the head trader( im gonna refer to him as obiwan kenobi), briefed us on the basic rules of the aussie stock exchange( how u can go long n short, but short only on a certain list of companies and with the hangseng index u can only go long n that kinda sucks in the event the stock starts to decline) and he also highlighted the factors that may affect the economy( especially since we're seeing the economy cooling down due to inflation and how information on crude oil inventories r more significant as compared to the past).

the differences between options, futures n how all these will affect how we determine our positions.

i was enthralled by obiwan kenobi's brief description abt 9-11 and how the market panicked and how some traders actually made what they cld have earned in a year in a matter of a few minutes. nothing beats hearing stories from people who have personally been out to war or in this case, the trading floor.

of course, there was a lot more but 2 hrs was gd enough for me.

not too much info,u know what i mean. gd enough for me to jog it back n fro my memory.

the newbies

there were 3 other dudes who have worked in financial firms n another girl from NZ who was based here in singapore in a private wealth management firm but she is a yr younger than me.i have very nice colleagues.

i can see that i'll enjoy work n i really need to prove my dad wrong.
